Let's not forget that there's more than two objects in an area at the same time now. It's not stupendous yet, but the environments actually feel like locations, not just empty open tunnels.

I came into it expecting Lets Go Ultra Peevee and am pleasently surprised. I see a lot of these NEETs complaining that the graphics look like a ps3 game, but that to me seems like a decent step for Pokemon, a series whose mainline has almost exclusively existed on handhelds and in sprites for the entirety of its existence, to be taking. I want to play Pokemon. I don’t want it to look like some cornball snoyboy bullshit like Uncharted, or worse, Digimon. We only got sprites that actually moved the entire duration of the battle not even 10 years ago. I’m pretty cool with how it’s looking.

You should show SM upscaled for consistency. It really does look like SM 2 to me, because the protags have remarkably similar animations.
