Scorbunny : soccer (scor has a double meaning as scorch and SCOOOOORE)
Grookey : Cricket (old cricket bats looked like hocket sticks)
Sobble: Rugby (rugby and soccer are notorious for having whiny bitches faking injury)

Honestly the concept of a Grass/Rock gorilla drummer that makes plants grow with the beats seems pretty cool.
Ice subtype would be nice too, but none of the starter's designs seem to invoke the type to me.

I'm doubtful. They all seem to be based on Football/Soccer

Grookey banging on rocks is just indicative of things the crowd do to show support/enthusiasm (making noise in general)

they have gloves in cricket you know
and they often hit the base with their bat in cricket as well
sobble looks like hes wearing a helmet and has his hands in a way that it looks like hes holding something, like a rugby ball

rugby players are know for faking injury, so it fits with sobbles wimp motif. not to mention its probably fumbling a lot, so its making a lot of weak, ranged moves
it will evolve into a fighting type after it learns sportsmanship and gets a few bruises, and make stronger throws
