Did u noticed the new Icon? its only in the japanese Logo (like the Mega Stones or Z-Cystals before)
I bet this will me a feature. Like Pokemon Soccer or some new kind of Battlesystem?

No I don´t want gimmicky bullshit. I just think the region is about beating gymn teams. Look at shield logo, it really looks like a football team emblem. Maybe there is no e4 you just need to beat the leagues to become first.

Exactly. The same way Sun/Moon had trials, Sword / Shield will have a gym mechanic specific to this region that will impact the story and gameplay.

I think the gym battles will be structured differently too and that will be the big gimmick this gen. Probably some kind of tournament structure, crowd ranking mattering for your over all performance, or it will mimic traditional sporting events. And hopefully if they are they can be repeated. I hope we can customize the jersey too.

You have to beat the gym leader physically in a sporting event minigame(not using Pokemon, literally you vs the gym leader) and THEN you can battle the traditional way with Pokemon.

Maybe something about one party assuming an offensive position and the other a defending one in some sort of soccer-inspired match instead of the traditional gyms. If you're playing Shield you'll play the defender in these matches and the attacker in Sword.
