When the game turned 3D and removed sprites, 2D overworlds. I really miss it. On top of that, 3D models fucked over the look of some of my favorite Pokemon: Primeape, Tauros, Kingdra.

XY gave me a hard slap in the face after the 2nd gym leader, and ORAS proceeded to kick me in the balls. I haven't been able to properly feel hyped for Pokemon since then, hell I didn't even play USUM or LGPE after getting tricked into playing SM.

But I won't say that I will ever truly hate Pokemon considering how large a part it was of my childhood, if anything the recent developments for Pokemon has caused me to further appreciate the stuff in the past. Watching the Twitch stream of the Indigo League reminded me of how much I still liked it back then and still do now. So while I may shit on Gen 8 in the future, don't think that me or all of hate Pokemon in general.

Since Pokémon GO turned out to be a flop, Pokémon Z was cancelled to make way for Sun/Moon, Ultra Sun/Moon turned out to not be sequels, and Let's Go being the worst "remakes" ever.

Sword and Shield was just the nail in the coffin.

Gen 7

The games going further away from being your own adventure to being railroaded cutscene to cutscene. That and the fact that the games have been getting easier and easier for no real reason.

SS giving me nack the freedom I had in Gen 5 and everything before it. And while not necessary a a hard mode or something would also be really great
