Not in the least, but I don't really think they hurt either. If their aim was to get a new group of little kids into the series with a sort of casual spin-off, then I think they probably found some success their.

I don't personally give a fuck about them, but from a business stand point it was a good move. Milk as much of the Pokemon Go hype as you can before it's gone, plus it probably helped sell quite a few switches.

they were part of a stupid plan to get people who hadn't touched pokemon in two decades to come back to the franchise. The people in that group that actually bought and played LGPE forgot about it like a week afterwards, when no one was talking about these games anymore. Those same people will most likely not have any interest in SWOSHI

These games were an attempt to cash in on nostalgia and the go trend, and it worked out pretty well.
