i don't know if the GAME FREAK logo is an accurate cipher tool.

if you look at the podium on the bottom image it most likely says "GALAR" but it uses the "F" chracter from "GAME FREAK".

just using intuition you can deduce that the podium could say "GALAR LEAGUE" but that involves the letter "L" being two different characters. this is possible if the text has both capital and lowercase letters.

I read on Bulbapedia that some of the signs in SM have sentences in Japanese on them. The pokealphabet is supposedly 1:1 with the English alphabet.

I'm pretty sure this is an N. It's the second letter of a two letter word, which could make it "in" or "on." Plus it's the same as the M in Game just without the middle point

the GameFreak logo is stylized in all uppercase, so the lowercase 'a' might look different

This looks like gibberish, and they pick symbols that look LIKE English letters to form important words. The rest is probably all gibberish.
It's neat to see though, tying into England's runic writing.

Could be a polyalphabetic cipher.
Using a keyword you could advance the shift and scramble words so the use different letter. Hide this behind their custom alphabet and it becomes trickier to work out.

Also a lot of effort just for some text, but only way I can think for why the letters are changing.

Do you think this is like the Digimon alphabet where there's both roman letters and hiragana? I counted at least 33 symbols. Some of which do resembled forgotten English letters, but a few also strongly resemble katakana

No idea. It reminds me of the Hebrew alphabet, where there's an "A" that can be modified to be other vowels. But it is a weird inconsistency if that sign is supposed to read "Galar League", since the spots where there should be "A"s don't line up at all with the Game Freak A's

Alright here's some of my thoughts on the script.
1. I'm pretty sure it's vaguely gibberish, where some words are nonsense and others are real, and others look real
2. as for the picture included, I made a list of all the letters I could find. The top three rows are just comparing the Game Freak letters (if those are anything to go off of) with their English and runic counterparts.
Below that, is the list of letters. Below each letter is a list of similar characters I recognize, and below those, are the sounds those characters represent. I noticed some possible ones like "r/l" and "k", where they lined up across english and japanese.

But yeah, for now, I think it's selective gibberish, since there seem to be inconsistencies in spelling, unless either I'm wrong, or they made up a whole language to go along with the script.

Is it supposed to be the same word as on the green plinth because then the third and fourth letters are swapped between them (the circular one and the left arrow).

Maybe it is supposed to be league and they just messed up.

Definitely possible, if it's not gibberish, assume that it's misspelled.

I translated the Ferrum alphabet from the Pokken games about 2 weeks back: https://imgur.com/a/1yj2kyS

With 24 symbols to work with, it was easy. This alphabet has over 30 unique symbols so it's proving to be a lot harder to decrypt...

I'm starting to be convinced that it is either gibberish or maybe it's using words from Old English or Gaelic or something.

There's upper and lower case letters, so 52 symbols

That other sign was exactly what I needed. Yeah, I also think they have two cases. I'm not sure on one symbol, though. The label on the blue building almost seems like it's been mirror imaged somehow. I may in fact have written the same symbol twice, so I isolated it.
