Okay, now that we KNOW FOR A FACT that GF isn't using LGPE as the template for the new gen

Can we finally admit these games were a fun little experiment and not the direct attack on your manhood like so many people here seem to think it is?

We all knew gen 8 was coming when they announced it at the same time as these games.

If we knew this wasn't a spinoff, and no main series game was in sight, it would've got federation forced probably for the sake of preventing it from being a standard for the main games.

Gen 8 has been in development before letsgo existed, they have been working on it since sun/moon came out

Gen 8 was being worked on before these games. Obviously LGPE isn't going to drastically alter what they already had done. It's the next game that's likely gonna be the final nail in the coffin.

No. They're downgrades to Red and Blue. If you find inferior versions of gameboy games fun, you'll probably find just about every modern game fun.

You know there's going to be Johto remakes in the Let's Go engine.

Also, it would not surprise me if the way wild Pokémon are caught becomes a togglable option in the future.

I liked them a fair bit. Granted I only put a little over 60 hours into my main so far compared to X00 for a main game, but they were still good and I'm hoping that they continue this rendition as a bi-yearly series.

No, because they weren't fun. The capture mechanic is fucking annoying and It corresponds to 60% of the game.

No way. The next Let's Go games will be Johto. GF already said that if Let's Go Kanto did well, they'd consider Johto. They'll make regular Sinnoh remakes in 2020 and sell Let's Go Johto in 2021 for the 25th anniversary

Is it surprising that games that took almost no effort to make and were wildly successful would get follow ups, when the follow ups would probably take even less effort.

Johto is small and they could just reuse the map from LGPE. They could paint the pokeball plus gold and call it the GS ball plus, and it would actually make sense to hold Celebi hostage to a GS ball. The LGPE engine could just be straight reused to make Let's Go Johto, along with the updated movepools and mechanics. I don't know if Gamefreak/TPC are privately traded companies, but if they are investors are SCREAMING at them to get to work right now.

You should be. The Let's Go games are stupid, watered-down versions of a real Pokemon game. You're literally paying $60 for half of the content in even a mediocre Pokemon game like Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
