What killed pokemon was the autistic fans.
Gamefreak poured so much effort into BWBW2 and everyone shat on it, and it sold the least.
Now they follow the trend of virtually every mainstream developer. Improve graphics, cut content. It so happened to manifest in the embarassment that was XY.

Pretty much this. Alola was worse and they had the nerve to come out with not one, but TWO useless third versions. LGPE was rubbing dirt in the wound. I'm not surprised that the morale is so low for everyone here
