There's a location that looks like an Elite 4 building, and behind that is some major crazy theme park city.

Mainline Pokémon directors have virtually no real control over what they're doing, TPC is the one dictating the direction the series takes now. So it really doesn't matter who's in charge, nobody can actually do anything to change Pokémon for the better at this point.
