>>37741177Nah. I think it was harder as a kid because you used a mix of whatever pokemon you could find, good or bad, poorly balanced typings, not knowing type match ups attacking moves only, and low levels/two pokemons levels were much higher than the rest of the teams.
Young kids just try to brute force their way through the game.
I had a Pokemon Crystal strategy guide I'd use like a bible. Its probably why I've learned to memorise Pokemon like a living Pokedex.
When my parents play GO they ask me what X Pokemon is and I usually know it immediately. Its pretty freaky honestly.
