>>37739142So, probably a given that we start at the southern most part.
Professor's house is probably just north and east of the start town. There seems to be a train that connects the starter town to the next big one. There's also what looks like a forest leading to a lodge of some sort (call back to Viridian again?). This leads into either a lake, or more likely a fen/ peat bog kind of situation. There's an old ruin, possibly an ancient turret?
Across a river, there's some big walls around what is presumably the steamwork town from the trailer. Probably a major part of the story that we will return to a few times. There appears to be a train track leading out of it to the west.
What looks like a soccer stadium and some farms lay out to the north east of steam town, probably our grass gym or equivalent. This is also where the weird giant carved images are located. Probably some story stuff there.
Directly East, we have a cove and probably our water stadium. There's also a lighthouse and an island that might be a place we can check out.
In between the two, we get a valley that looks kinda barren and rocky. Possibly our "desert" area?
From there, we see dragon castle land. Probably more plot stuff here, and the "hub" for the last part of the game. Another stadium (ground? fire? steel? rock?) and a path to a fairy forest with probably the fairy or poison stadium all sit east of dragon town.
To the west we have a strange mansion or maybe small village past a series of plateaus. Slightly north of there, we have a frozen cove and what looks like a mine or quarry both of which lead up to an ice mansion and our 5th stadium. Assuming the towers in steam town and dragon city serve as gym equivalents, we're looking at potentially 7 gyms, and the 8th (or more realistically the first you encounter) being in the starting town, either the church or purple roofed building.
Due north of dragon city is victory road and our end game area, filled with stuff.
