anyone think 3D battles lack intensity?
maybe its just me but compare these two champion fights, to me it feels like the iris battle has a lot more life to it than kakuis or dianthas

Gen V's sprites were far more lively than the 3D models. The composition was closeup from player POV so there is more action going on in a smaller space than in the 3D games.

If they'd actually animate the 3D models, it'd be a lot better.

I think the reason the top seems more "intense" is the music and the moving background, because honestly there all the same shit.

3D looks more natural, the 2D has them bouncing and pulsing awkwardly. There's nothing intense about either style, GF is just lazy

I could take or leave 3D vs 2D but battles in games before gen V feel so fucking weird now, seeing the sprites totally motionless. it amazes me that we were all okay with that for four fucking generations

A lot of the Gen 3 and 4 sprites were terrible. Gen 2 was the best for th gen 1-4 era sprites.
