As a whole do you like what we've seen from gen 8 thus far?

if you took the time to actually look at all the strawpolls so far (there have been many), you'd know that the reception so far has been pretty positive here

I only really care about Pokemon designs, and 2/3 look great.
Graphics are obviously shit, but if you don't expect that from GameFreak at this point you have a legitimate mental illness.
Map looks fine, hard to tell how big it is.
Cutscenes are the only dealbreaker desu

God the pessimistfags are actually really pissing me off this time. I usually find it funny but this game actually looks like it will be pretty good. The starters I can kind of get why people wouldn't like them, I love Grooky and like Sobble but with their lanky limbs and bobble heads I can see how they don't appeal to everyone. What I don't get is why people are complaining about other shit. The graphics are great, literally the best parts about SM and LGPEE's graphics with the shit stuff removed, the game looks beautiful. Also yes I know that the pokeball in the snow area didn't have a shadow, the game isn't finished yet, that will be sorted. The battle animations are amazing too, I love how they brought back the dynamic camera from the stadium games when pokemon attack. The battle backgrounds don't look like garbage too, which is nice. I'm worried that some routes will be a corridor but there are some (like the wheat field for example) that are clearly going to be open which is really cool.

tl;dr Honestly, from what I've seen in the direct it looks like a 8/10. Only complaints are the starters and possibly route linearity.

Problem is, you're comparing it to other Pokemon games. Which have been about a decade behind the rest of the vidya industry since it began.
Compare it to other Switch games and you can see why everyone is disappointed. What's the point of moving to new hardware if it only looks marginally better than a fucking DS game?

The graphics look like Oblivion on low-settings

You're literally lying. The graphics look great. I can see how the cartoony anime artstyle doesn't appeal to everyone but the models are solid, the texturing fits the artstyle and the lighting is good aside from that one pokeball bit. Just because you personally don't like the artstyle doen't mean it's bad.

I watched the direct, I was extremely reserved in my hype levels before watching it, but after checking it out I was sure /vp/ would be over the moon about this game but when I checked the catalog it was just a bunch of garbage threads nitpicking the most minor shit ever. The poll makes it clear it was just a few shitposters though probably spamming threads
