I think they're gonna slowly reveal each final evo this time 'round, starting with the rabbit for the end of the SM anime, in order to promote the next games. That would explain why there's the female Alolan trainer in the ref sheet art.
And there is precedence, they showed off Blaziken in the Johto league before we found out about Gen 3's starters at all.

This decision probably came as a result of Gen 7's getting leaked super early, so the surprise was ruined for a lot of people. If GF reveals them early officially this time though, it might be better in the end.

Fucking why did they do this? Because the concepts got leaked so early? If this gen's pre release season is anything like SM's, I'm going in fully blind after they reveal the box mascots and who fucking knows when that's gonna be

First route bird, bug, and rodent wasn't revealed until E3. I wonder if they will show off Pokemon at the same rate as Sun and Moon. Hopefully the encounters aren't as fucked as there's.
