>>37751926Barry is better than any other rival since gen 2(excepting possibly the gen 7 edgy boi Gladion), but he's still on a much lower level than Blue and Silver, not least of which is because half his encounters are just... bullshit. Blue you only see for fights and hear from when he's mocking you, Silver goes through an arc through a small handful of non-combat enocunters, Barry is just annoying in a huge a number of non-combat encounters where he doesn't do anything interesting or important, and then suddenly gets a wakeup call that doesn't develop into anything.
