Matine Surf, the new ultra beasts, Pikachu valley, Ultra Megalopolis and Team Rainbow rocket are examples of Extra Content of a third game like Platinum's Distortion world and Emerald's Battle Frontier. but i still say they were a step-up from S/M and the only mistake they made was Butchering the plot.
LGPE wasn't a game for everyone. if they were sincere about that statement they would have included pokemon beyond kanto and gave known ones like Lucario and Gardevoir Regional variants but no they didn't and it was because it would have "confused" the new players dwindling their interest into the series. The game is for new players, not veteran players. While they weren't as bad as people made it out to be we can all agree they could have greatly expanded the region.
