They said "they don't care about which acronym" they never explicitly said they don't care about pointing out how much of a manbaby you are.
Anyways, personally for me I don't aaaaaactually care what anyone else uses except it does make me question behind people's logic when the acronym isn't as simplified as possible (looking at you SuMo).
I always stuck with what is shortest and makes sense.

DPPt, though honestly DPP isn't exactly confusing as to which gen we're talking about but Pt came about because it kinda did need individuality from Pearl.

and as for sun and moon I never used SuMo cause it was rather unnecessary to include the second letter. SM worked idk how anyone would fucking get it confused with other gens. Then as for USUM, I narrowed it down to USM.
As for Sword and Shield SS works. Literally nobody should be discussing Soul Silver as an individual. If they WERE though, like "what was your first game?" then yeah sure. But honestly that's like 1/30 fucking people in that specific thread.
SwSh is fine, but it's bringing back that SuMo mentality from reddit. SS is literally fine so long as people keep to HGSS.
