It probably looks better when the camera isn't so close to it. It's also very flat which looks weird for what should be a field. They should probably not have the camera zoom in so close or cover some of it up with grass like in the background there or add some other objects closer to the action such as trees or rocks.

It looks significantly better when the ground isn't all flat and you add some tall grass and other things closer to the action as well and not have the camera hovering a foot off the ground.

The textures look like shit but the way it comes together with everything else looks fine enough. It's more or less a Breath of the Wild situation where they hide the PS2-tier textures behind an artstyle. I also like how the colors all come together. Definitely doesn't look perfect though, some of those backgrounds are rough, especially that one shot from a battle where the town in the background looks like propped up cardboard.

It's not just the artstyle they hide it behind in BotW. The camera doesn't normally get that close to the ground, the ground frequently has moving grass and flowers over it, and there are varied ground textures next to each other with some showing dirt, some showing leaves, and some with small rocks.
