That only works because Exeggutor is just tall, whereas Wailord is big all over. It can't just go off screen without clipping into everything.

Actually wailord was scaled down for the gamecube games. It wasn't until battle revolution that it was properly scaled.

That's Grubbin's length. Look at Vikavolt here. Height-wise it's not much taller than Togedemaru, but it's longer.

Whether they're to scale or not has nothing to do with the engine.
LGPE is a 3DS port and it still has the correct scale.

It's not even a matter of being lazy since the models are already to-scale. I actually can't a think of a reason they wouldn't be scaled right in SwSh.
