Playing Crystal Clear (side note: best Pokemon rom hack I've ever played, I highly recommend it next time you feel like doing a gen 2 run) and found Zapdos at the power plant. I went in with 18 ultra balls, a venusaur with sleep powder and a pikachu with thunderwave. Got him down to about 10% hp and he knocked out my venusaur before I could put him to sleep. Paralyzed him with pikachu and started throwing balls. It was the most intense battle of the game so far since my goal is to complete the pokedex. According to a catch rate calculator I found online, each ultra ball had around a 2% success rate. I threw and I threw, losing many pokemon in the process. I was losing hope until, I shit you not, I caught him with my VERY LAST ball. I haven't felt such a rush from catching a pokemon since I was a kid. I know it's an autistic thing to get excited about but I had to tell someone.
