personally i'm a sucker for the kaiju and cool-type mons so recent starters have been pretty underwhelming minus decidueye and maybe greninja

i do like the earlier more cutesy stuff like meganium's line, but even then they still had more of a grounded edge to them, gen 8's stuff is a bit too overexaggerated in shape and falls to the nu-mon 'cute' side which feels too heavily influenced by moe-loving weebs
