How is that even remotely ok? There's people who will have their Eevees, Espeons and Umbreons from the gamecube games but LGPE is forever doomed

Gamefreak got a clue and allowed transfers (though it took multiple generations to get it right) ever since.

If we can't transfer 3DS mons to the Switch kiss your Switch sales goodbye.

You honestly think they're going to turn around, especially after making Bank and keeping it active for 2 Generations at this stage and not make LGEP/SS compatible in some way?

The core parameters of what makes a Pokemon unique have stayed mostly the same since gen III, making transfers a relatively simple act of conversion between generations. You have a PID, IVs, nature, abilities, etc. Pretty sure this remains true even in LGPE, where abilities have simply been dummied out, which seems like an intentional decision for transferring later on.

It's going to work the same way as contest Pikachu in ORAS and Spiky-Eared Pichu. They'll be forced to stay in LGPE and be unable to be transferred.

I read online that crystal fixed the battery issue and wouldn’t die, so I transferred my best bros from gold, typhlosion and togetic, to crystal because I had both games. Turns out the battery in crystal dies too. RIp my dear typhlosion and army of typhlosion clones. You will always be my favourite.

The switch is doing fine. Very few people won’t buy a switch because they can’t transfer Pokémon. That said I really hope they do let you transfer but I doubt it. They can’t even get their online features to work right.

I hate Let's Go and the people who bought it but I'd hate them not being able to keep their Pokémon evwn more.
Maybe the save file is deleted if you transfer your partner.
Plus the broken partner moves are deleted.
Now I don't know if they would be willing to let them keep the customization elements.
The GameBoy/GameBoy Advance split was one of the worst things to ever happen to the franchise.
Leaving behind the special Pikachu and Pichu hurt as well.
That said, I wouldn't mind if they decided to block Ash Greninja from transfering up. Fuck that shit.

Game Freak confirmed they were working on bringing Bank to Switch soon after they got their devkit (it was one of the earliest confirmations of Pokémon-related software on Switch too) back in 2015. It absolutely will happen.

LGPE getting Bank access was a foregone conclusion, as the IDs for PokeGo is already in the region markers of Bank (like how we knew Crystal was coming).
I think OP is specifically talking about the partner Eevee and Pikachu, which are like to remain in LGPE just like spikey eared Pichu and Costume Pikachu.
though they could just nerf their BST back to normal from transfer, like how Gen1/2 mons get new IVs

Obviously plans can change, but I'd doubt this being happening. The real question is of how Let's Go will interact with Bank, how Partner Pikachu/Eevee will work with that, and if GO will interact with Bank or Sword/Shield.

Let's Go series games will only be compatible with other games in the Let's Go series while the continuing generational games will be compatible with one another. For playing both you will get special rewards in each game but there will be no transfer of pokemon between them.

This guy is literally exactly what I wanted in a Pikachu since childhood. I've always had a soft spot for Pikachu since I was a kid. I grew up watching the anime, and Pikachu has been my main in Smash since 64. Hes not my absolute favorite Pokemon, but he is one I am fond of. And I loved the fact that for the very first time, he has actually been usable in battle.

I don't mind if they have to nerf some of his exclusive moves like Zippy Zap, I just want the BST. I wanna use the little guy.

Probably the best way to do it is if you have "clear" data in LGPE, you can transfer a copy of your starter to a Sword or Shield game. Kinda like how a demo of SM could transfer the Greninja.

GSC killed the craze and pokemon wasn't as popular anymore. Its why they took the opportunity to actually improve upon the game.

No, they just couldn't get the transfer to work right. The GBA has a feature to trade between Gameboy and Gameboy Advance carts that was added specifically for Pokemon, but it just didn't work very well.

LGPE mons are pretty much identical to normal Pokémon in term of data, the only thing they'd have to figure out is how the ability turns out upon transferring to SS. I'm wondering if GO itself will be able to connect to SS as well.

Ability capsules don't get you hidden abilities so it won't make imports like Slowbro, Starmie, or Alakazam salvagable.

True, it won't save your LGPE bromon in this case, but they don't have any notable exclusive move for competitive purposes. The most notable things you can get that I can think of are Play Rough Arcanine and Teleport Natural Cure Chansey, assuming the TMs don't return in SS.
