No matter how good or bad Gen 8 is, you'll all get bored of it in a month and then start beginning for a new game.

This has always been the case for this franchise.

Is it weird that I actually still like most of the games aside from Gen 6?

Didn’t buy USUM because fuck paying for the same game twice, but S/M is a game I still look back on fondly

No. Heres what will happen

If PSS or similar: I will spend rest of game playing online

If Festival Plaza or similar: I will drop the game after completion and go play on showdown and possibly be done buying pokemon games

I would argue that the Pokémon fan base is much, much worse
Pokémon fans go out of their way to destroy competition (Yokai Watch) and continue buying GF’s latest product regardless of quality

Thus, with no real competition or risk of failure, we can continue to get X/Ys and USUMs into perpetuity
