Nothing to complain about so far other than lack of following Pokémon (just accept it’s not in). I’m still not getting my hopes up though because I remember how hyped I was for Sun and Moon during its pre-release season.

I think Ohmori has it in him to make a good game if Gamefreak found a way to work around potential problems instead of just excising them. Difficulty settings would be a good way to give kids an easier game than older fans for example, while a proper onscreen map that can be could help with the fear that comes with kids getting lost in more complex areas. Instead of just finding workarounds to these issues they gimp things and that's upsetting. Ohmori was the lead game designer for Diamond and Pearl, while also having done map planning for that game and Ruby and Sapphire. It's not like he's incapable it's more of a deliberate holding back.

My only complaints are that the games looks like a PS2 game and that they still, for the millionth of times recycled assets from Pokemon X/Y with barely any improvement.

It feels like I'm going to play Sun and Moon again but in a new location except now there are better starters.
