The rose shaped thing seems like it could be more like a "world cup" type thing compared to the gyms that look more regional.

Getting a full Dark type gym this time would make sense. The fact that it's on some kind of large museum looking building could mean that maybe we have to go through a history lesson on the region and then face the leader who is some kind of historian that studies the Dark ages and has new Dark type pokemon and like Bisharp or some shit.
