Unpopular opinion. I hope this game pulls an X/Y and gives us a second set of starters. Having two starters is fun!

I just hope they don't pull a Gen 5 where you get a pseudo starter instead. They felt like cheap imitations of the real deal.

My first game was Silver and even I think gen 2 has the weakest starters over all.
Gen 5's have worse final forms but at least have amazing first forms.

Good point. They are the weakest. I like their designs overall but without any sort of plus, like a Mega or a regional variant, I doubt we'll be seeing them.

Maybe gen 4 starters? Their finals forms have the best designs IMO but it may be too obvious if we're getting a Sinnoh remake.

If we do get armor forms I think the gen 2 starters would be the absolute best choice to market them. They're incredibly simplistic designs even compared to the gen 1 starters and as a result an armored form would be very easy to design and execute. They also have this generally odd placement among the starters in that their generation is popular, but most seem to find them forgettable (even if they are still popular) so they could really use the boost.

An armored Typhlosion would be really great I think. But I'm not really on the armored bandwagon myself. It seems too similar to Mega Evolution. Then again I'm sure they want to tap into that sweet sweet Kamen Rider money.

I mean don't get me wrong it could be really cool and there's a lot they can do with armors but it's kind of the same ground as Megas. They're both similar to superforms that change up and boost stats.

I think the idea of armored Pokemon sounds awesome, probably because I like stall and armor probably means defense.

Not too thrilled that Charizard is getting one while probably no other starters will, because Charizard is teh epics.

Well there were about 25 Megas in XY so I'd gather Armor will see around the same number so I'm sure at least one other starter will have it there. Probably Greninja at least.
