Well obviously they weren’t going to show new mons, but I don’t think they’ve ever shred away from common NPCs. I could understand if they are all wearing armor or something.

I wish I could be hyped about things, honestly. It would be great to have faith. Having faith after years of modern gamefreak would be retarded though. We know exactly what we're going to get. I didn't hate USUM, but it certainly wasn't anything remarkable.

To be fair, almost every game does that, even shit people love like Skyrim and BotW. About the only games that don't do that are games that take place in a single city, or games that design cities such that you're limited to a small part of a city with more only existing in the background.

It's most likely that they do model placement towards the end. There's no reason to have them there while you're still working on the environments. XY's trailer also lacked NPCs in Luminous and that city was flooded with them in the endgame.

I mean, yeah. Me and my friends spent a lot of time in forests with no hiking trail for people who want 'nature'. Digging through nooks and crannies away from signs of human-enforced order is good for the soul desu.

It's probably a bit ambitious for Gamefreak but they could have randomized their NPCs so they're all unique and they might want to pretend like it's a feature.

Remember in the XY trailer when they showed the street on Lumiose City that literally had one guy but then in the final game it had a bunch of NPCs and even a taxi?

Remember in the XY trailer when they showed Malva’s room in the Pokémon League at the end, but Malva herself wasn’t there?

Remember in the SM trailer when Hau’oli was shown and yet it was devoid of most of the NPCs that make up it now, especially on the beach?

It’s the same here. Model placement isn’t finished. The only NpC was the Las on purpose so they could show the battle splash screen.
