It doesn't take place ALONGSIDE SM in the story, it takes place INSTEAD of SM in a SEPARATE TIMELINE, just like the other 3rd versions.

I'll be sure to add your surrender to my tally of internet arguments won. Personally, I started with USUM after hating XY, and enjoyed it for what it was. The biggest complaint I have is lack of content, but when has Pokemon ever had a lot of content? Even B2W2 and PtHGSS feel lacking in content to me. Never bought anything after SS tho.
