I wanna stick with Scorbunny because I want to pick the Fire starter for my first run again. Even though I picked Tepig during my first BW run, I quickly realized that the Fire starters were beginning to lack appeal after Gen 4. Delphox ended up being too bland looking, and I admit I was a quadraped fag hoping Litten would stay on all fours once it evolved.
Now, I'm hoping Scorbunny becomes the "cool" starter of this Gen, because it could easily become a waifu due to being a rabbit.

Did you forget Gamefreak made it so that in SM it take 23 minutes at best to just *get* the starter?
Going by their recent track record, 2 hours to evolve the starter in the next game would be too short of a guess.

If the early game forest area has a neat looking grass pokemon Grookey is off the table.
If the new bird pokemon has a secondary type in common with a starter that one is out too. (Imagine picking Fennekin in XY and then running into a Fletchling, it's like the game is immediately telling you you made the wrong choice)
I think Sobble is the safest choice so far, but we'll see.

If I'd only seen the first stage starters, I would have had different starter selection in some games.

Charmander wouldn't change.

Totodile wouldn't change.

Treecko wouldn't change.

Turtwig wouldn't change.

I'd have picked Snivy but prefer Emboar over Serperior.

I'd have picked Fennekin but Greninja is miles better than Delphox.

And I'd have picked Litten but Decidueye is better.

In fact it gets worse almost every gen. By the end, you've got Fennekin going from top 3 first stage starters to bottom 3 final evos, then Litten going from decent to literally the worst final evo starter by a long way in Incineroar.

So by that logic, Grookey is gonna turn out to be utter shit because that's the one I'd pick at this point

Going Scorbunny because fire types are still under-represented and its the best looking base. If it happens to get the subtype of Electric, I may use it later on, as Electric is my favorite typing and Fire/Electric is a unique typing.

We already have an idea how the starters will go down just on design/ presentation alone.

Scorbunny
>final evolution is either fire/normal or fire/ground
>will be the fastest starter of the three
>design will be soccer based

Grookey
>final evolution is grass/fighting
>will be most well balanced
>design will be martial arts based

Sobble
>final evolution is water/flying
>will be slowest, defense or hp oriented

All of them will be Olympics based to support Japan 2020. Each starter will excell in at least one of the stadium gyms you go to.
