The textures and lighting are vastly improved. Im a little on the fence about them removing outlines and replacing them with rim lighting, but it looks pretty good.
If you're expecting something that looks gross and pseudo-realistic like pokken you're probably underage, Pokemon has an artstyle and its sticking to it, its just polishing it up.
