Graphics are slightly better (the least we could expect) but map-design is the exact same narrow corridior with weird grass patches and people standing akwardly by the side.

None of the routes in Alola are interesting though.
GF forgot how to do level design when they moved to 3D. XY/ORAS still had some classic route and dungeon designs but that's because they were literally structured like a 2D game, with grids.
GF really can't into full 3D areas.

Gen 4's first route linked between Sandgem Town and Lake Verity. Gen 2 also had a long route 1 that showed off the new Apricots, and also linked with a late game route.
