does using action replay to cheat in oaks letter, aurora ticket etc have any drawbacks? since the items just let you go catch them they can still be brought into pokebank right? i always felt jipped when i missed them

You could literally just hack your 3ds, and use TWLSaveTool to dump the save, and pop it on your PC, open PKHeX, open your save, give yourself the Wonder Card, pop save back on cart, pick up item in pokemart. Way easier than Action Replay.

Just use Altwfc. They have all of the gen 4 and 5 events open to download and it opens up the online features for those games again. Use your mobile hotspot on your phone for gen 4 though and make sure there's no security on it because Gen 4 games can only use WEP which hasn't been the standard since 2004.

Get into mystery gift, they're distributing lots of event pokemon
It's random tho so you might need to connect a couple of times to get what you want
