We literally just specify "AMERICAN Football" when talking about handegg, and call good ol' football "football".

Yeah, I know the U.S. is the only one that calls it Soccer, but that doesn't fucking matter. It's a different word used to refer to the same damn thing, whoop-dee-doo. It doesn't change the sport, it's not a mistake like mixing up American football and rugby. It's just what we call it.
