No no no, you don't understand. The regi trio follows an inverse style of Rock Paper Scissors.
Regirock is Rock.
Registeel is Scissors.
Regice is Paper.
Regigigas is Spock.

Now remember, the rules are inverse.
Rock beats Paper.
Scissors beats Rock
Scissors also happens to beat Paper. At least until Paper uses Rock Polish and activates Weakness Policy, at which point Paper becomes an unstoppable killing machine, and then also beats Rock. And it would beat Scissors, but it can't target Scissors, because Scissors exists in a tier with dedicated special walls. So Scissors beats Rock and switches out of Paper and that's how the elemental trio works.
