Since Galar is his region and he's art director now, how many Pokemon do you think he got to deign this time? He may have also made the starters so do you trust him not to fuck up their evolutions?
I personally like his stuff and am looking forward to how the region and Pokemon look.

Well if he did design them then he already fucked up with two of the three first stages so that doesn't bode well. Even if they weren't designed by him they presumably would have needed his approval, so that's worrying too.

The only mention of art directing I can see on is twitter is in his bio, and it doesn't specify title. I know that he is an art director, he was that for games like Trozei and PBR.
I'm asking for a source on him being the art director for SS specifically.

Well, it is assumed that since he's British he would be the art director for the game's region. And also we only learnt of him being an art director about a month before SwSh reveal. His profile didn't say that before.

I like his designs, but if the starters are any indication he might not be good for art director. I thought the stuff Sugimori said about adding flaws to Pokemon was dumb before, but he may have actually been onto something.

Most of it wasn't designed by him. Only the Ice Cream was Daddy Turner. Everything else was the lazy japs. Based Turner has a wide variety of mon designs.

There's been interviews where Sugimori has talked about giving suggestions to the designers about the Pokemon they're designing. He definitly had some input on what the final Pokemon designs looked like and on the overal style, and Turner would presumebly have the same if he's the art director for the game. And Ohmura probably had the same with the Gen VII Pokemon.
