I still don't get why people shit on the ice cream so much.
Magnemite is literally a sentient magnet and screw that somehow occurs naturally in nature yet no one gives a fuck that it makes no sense and it's just a ball with eyes and two literal magnets stuck to it but no the ice cream is crossing the line.

There's a way of making objectmon cool but not like this. I'll agree that a magnet, a bunch of purple goo and a literal Pokeball aren't particularly interesting either but neither is an icecream cone with the face of two retards pasted on it. Neither are three gears or a bag of literal trash.

I think the Chandelurne, Golurk, Aegislash, Bronzong, Drifbloom lines are a good example of well designed objectmons

While I agree that the ones you listed are better (I mean Drifloon alone is one of my favourites) than the Vanillite evolutionary line my point was more that the ice cream is no worse than the other object type pokemon that we had in the past yet it gets by far the most shit out of all of them except for maybe Klefki. It just feels unfair when it's really not any worse and in a few cases better designed than some of the previous objects even if it's not the best.

I can see that. Cuteness or any other adjective depends a lot on cultural background. I wonder if Vanniluxe and Klefky where well received in Japan.

Yeah I love practically every other objectmon, but don't like the Klink line very much outside of Klink itself. Once it starts evolving it goes to shit, I get the joke of just adding more gears but in doing so it loses the parts that could be interpreted as organic and endearing
