Just like Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh.
They really dropped the ball starting in gen 6 when they started trying to recreate real world regions instead of creating their own region that's loosely inspired by the real world. . .

You actually see a lot of Asian tourists these days in DC down south, especially in NC/Georgia/Florida. Sadly they're probably not going for it, they're clearly doing the international thing on purpose and doing yet another US region is unlikely to fit into their plans. Expect Germany, Spain, or Italy next. Scandinavia isn't out of the question either.
