What are the possibility that these stadiums are real time battles? This could be the new battle mechanic.

I wouldn't be surprised if they made it just for these battles.

The white circles within it makes me think it might be some sort of positioning system, like other RPGs do. The red half represents Pokemon on the offense, while the one(s) in back offer defense/support. Since there are 3 circles there, it could be an overhaul for Rotation battles.
