>>37830796>nothing beats encountering a brand new pokemon for the first timeHow exactly is encountering on the OW for the first time not still encountering it for the first time? The difference being an outdated screen transition that takes you out of the moment? It was fine in older games with less sophisticated hardware and different design sensibilities (2D sprites) but now Gamefreak have moved to 3D, with more naturalistic scaling and propertions with each gen, how feasible or exciting is it to walk through plasticy grass not even half way up the character's height, for a meter tall Ponyta to improbably 'suprise' you?
Also are you forgetting that for every time you encounter a new mon there are also the 7000 Zubats/Rattata and Tentacool encounters? They should change encounter rates really but, I guess you don't like change.
>also they made the game choppycould you possibly not fucking conceive of better implementation of this in a newer game with more development, as opposed to strawmanning the single instance of this in the series having issues? No you can't because it wouldn't fit your agenda of being a nostalgic apologist bitch.
