Smash and Odyssey had other teams come in too. But nope. Not Game Freak. No way their 300+ man studio could ever figure out HD. Or ask Daddy Nintendo to help. Or actually be held to a standard.
Look. I don't care if we get a realistic Pokemon game or not. I do care that this doesn't look like they bothered to try. I really don't want to play through gen 7 again. I didn't like it. Just give me something that feels new because this isn't it.
