I think random battles works better than roaming battles for Pokemon because the game world is so cramped and tiny. The problem is GameFreak making an upscaled 3DS game instead of an actual console game for their Switch debut.

Wild pokemon were only good for catching, and getting xp from. They were always so easy to just run away from that they were just an annoyance otherwise.
It was the trainers and gym leaders that were the real roadblocks in every game.
So why bother keeping the fighting wild pokemon mechanic? Can you tell me what purpose fighting wild pokemon gives besides what I listed?

The problem is gamefreak doesn't understand the communities established terms of mainline, and spinoff. They also think XD Gale of Darkness is also a mainline game which it also fucking isn't.

These terms are community defined. They can say whatever they are, but at the end of the day a mainline is either a new gen introduction, or an expansion upon the current generation such as HGSS, B2W2, ORAS, USUM

Btw fish Pokemon should be put on the ground during fights, they shouldnt retardedly levitate.

Their attenpts at letting you interact with your Pokémon have fucking sucked and I would prefer if they left it out entirely. SuMo felt like you had to do the boring as hell rubbing shit every couple of battles if you wanted your Pokémon to be battling at their full potential.

On Switch in 2019 it's not hard to:
-Let you have one your Pokemon follow you
-Allow you to have any of your Pokemon out of its ball for interaction (provided the location allows its size)
-Let you ride any ridable Pokemon you own

Pokémon interacting with the environment is probably the main thing that's lacking in Pokemon games. It's part of the reasons why Pokemon Snap was so popular. Pokemon Let's Go was a step in the right direction, but not quite there yet.
