I sincerely believe Cyndaquil is one of the greatest starter designs but Typhlosion is really bland and disappointing. It unironically just gets bigger, which is especially jarring compared to the other starters in all the other gens since they don't have this issue.

The problem is not "it just gets bigger", because he doesn't. No Pokémon "just gets bigger". It's a matter of you not liking Typhlosion. I do like him very much, just not the usual sprites she has.

Not to be that guy but Cyndaquil is neotenous and Typhlosion is mature looking. Typhlosion has been popular since 2000 but since competitive has gotten popular a lot of people know its not great and that has an effect on how people see it. It looks like it should be very explosively powerful. Also it's rather silly battle model. Hopefully they change that for this iteration because frankly there's little sense to that.

God damn I WISH the evolutions would just get bigger again. Typhlosion is my favorite starter because when I pick Cyndaquil, it feels like he's actually the baby version of what I'm gonna get.

The horror of picturing which starter is gonna grow a pair of tits or pecs is the worst part of each new gen hands down. If they all just got bigger I'd be so fucking happy.
