I think I may have discovered a weird glitch related to Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Yellow.

>buy a copy of Pokemon Yellow with a new battery installed off eBay
>confirm that it retains saves and get started on a file
>get a Pikachu and name it NO EVO?! as I'm not planning to use it since it can't evolve
>catch a Caterpie and nickname it as well to use a Butterfree to kill Brock
>start playing around with Pokemon Stadium, taking advantage of its storage and checking functions for fun
>play some Dodrio Mode on GB Tower to play the game at 3x speed
>suddenly realize at one point that my Pikachu's name has changed from NO EVO?! to simply NO
>don't even know if it was like that when I started playing Dodrio Mode or if it just changed
>go into the Lab on Stadium and look at it
>still has the name as NO EVO?!
>try various things including taking the game out, putting it into a box and resetting, trying it on different hardware, putting it onto an N64 Box then saving and resetting both
>even try Pokemon Stadium 2 and it's the same story
>it is still NO in the games and NO EVO?! everywhere on Pokemon Stadium 1 or 2
This is fucking weird as shit and I don't know what to make of it at all. Has anyone ever heard of a glitch where Pokemon Stadium screws up your Pokemon's names? I can't see anything online about a glitch like this.
