I am nuzlocking Platinum with level cap being the next Gym Leader's strongest Pokemon

I got wiped out against Roark and lost Turtwig, Psyduck and Machop so now I have to fight with these guys, will be pretty tough the Nuzlocke might end before even beating the first gym which is embarrassing

The second gym is always easy in Sinnoh. It's impossible to not have one or more of:

>earthquake brings girafarig down to FUCKING ONE HP (how is he even hitting me)

It was so epic but it almost fell apart multiple times through crits and misfortune. I am worried for the elite four, this is tougher than I thought. I've already lost 12 pokemon. I don't even care about cheesing in this manner, that gym was fucking rough.

Side note: is it cheap to use the Regi's? I got registeel and regirock and it might be very nice to baton pass them calm minds for the elite four. I don't know how I feel about using legendaries though.

Fair enough, but I might as well get them to a decent level, since Audino is harder to find for a bit afterwards. Forgot to mention he's 18 and Purrloin is 15. Wottson also just evolved. I should be fine now.

Just reached victory road on emerald with my meme team and caught an Aron! I already have a dead one so this is the redemption round.
What level should I be at for the elite four?
I'm this guy >>37853049 so you know my team. Sharpedo is dead so Aron will replace him.
I am planning to pass speed/calm minds to swampert for the dragon battle (ice beam) and pass to magneton for the champion. Aggron and swampert should handle the dark battle.
Girafarig should be able to solo the ghost battle with crunch and calm mind.
Am I gonna make it? Please I don't wanna fail anons I'm so close.

man that was a bit of a slog getting them leveled up but in the end we prevailed
Dust and Nimbus took care of Sidney
Zip was able to OHKO all of Phoebe
Glacia took some doing between Dust, Zip, Trill, and Tumble
Trill was able to Ice Beam most of Drake while tanking their hits but I had to switch to Sipher for his Salamence and was able to confuse/poison him out
Steve was a bit of work but once I got Cradily and Metagross out of the way the rest went down quick.

I think I'm gonna do FRLG before Emerald. That Victory Road grind was a real drag.

I had a similar rule which was just I couldnt bring any Pokemon higher than said Pokemon into a gym leader battle which basically just lead to the same thing you're doing. I dont think I ever overleveled anyone then had to box them.

Post-Roark is where shit really goes down. Gardenia's Roserade is a motherfucker and the upcoming Galactic commander fights can be hell.

I'm doing a Drayano Blaze Black 2 nuzlocke and it's going shitty. Somehow got through Cheren but now I'm at Roxie and she wrecks my whole team. Team is Dewott, Patrat, Makuhita, Marill, Horsea... so basically 1 Water/Fighting, 2 pure Water, 1 Fighting and one Normal. Caught Pokemon in all possible areas. Has anyone played this hack, is there anything to be done in that situation other than leveling the team to 30?

Thinking of doing an Autismlocke, we'll see how this run goes.

How does /nuzgen/ feel about the speed up button?
If anything I think it makes me more reckless and likely to lose Pokemon. I can't be bothered to grind without it, and eventually it becomes hard to let go of it even when I'm progressing normally.

Pretty much agree with your post. I had to restrain myself from overuse of it in my Platinum Nuzlocke recently. I use a controller so I mapped it to L3 (clicking in the left stick) for most of my playthrough.

FUUUUUUUUUUCK THIS SHIT REEEEEEEEEEE
Now I have to train up 2 new party members when I was already training up a gyarados from level 28. Now all I've got is:
Swampert (god tier)
Lairon (will be god tier)
Magneton (god tier)
Gyarados
.....I guess I'll get a ninjask or shedinja because they seem to handle the E4 pretty well with baton passing or just sitting in on the mons who can't touch them.

Doing a Nuzlocke of Blue, I plan to Nuzlocke every gen as a means to reevaluate my opinions on a lot of them (especially the older ones).

Also the Nuzlocke Generator isn't letting me download due to "cross-origin resources". Is this because I chose to display my Pokémon as sprites? For now I can just copy, but soon enough I will run out of the space the site actually displays on my browser. Which is something I never understood as well, why is the window of the generator so limited? I like using it for management as well and halfway through the game my boxed pokémon just run past the display window.
I'm asking in case there are resize options and I'm just fucking dumb.

It's an edit of Expert Emerald fro pokecommunity but with the physical/special split and some gen 4 moves added to cover it. Also just like expert, most gyms and the champion are double battles.

It's still a beta, and I agree there's lots of stuff they should add, like a "failed encounters" section, but its still better than making it yourself in paint in my opinion

He’s level 41 at victory road, I already used my earthquake TM so the only physical moves he gets now are normal type and rock smash. ROCK SMASH. He has a great special movepool but 60 base spAtk.

Was kind of worried since my bellsprout died while grinding and I didnt get a Sandshrew or Geodude from previous routes/Mt Moon. I went to Diglett cave but my first encounter was a Lv 29 Dugtrio. Side note: emerald nuzlocke guy who lost half his team in victory road here.
I've got level 51 aggron, swampert and magneton. Level 38 ninjask (training to 45 to get baton pass so I can pass SD and evasion and hopefully a sub). Level 30 gloom to poison things, and finally a level 20 shedinja that I'm considering training up to level 31 only for confuse ray.
The strategy will be to pass speed and hopefully a sub to the first three members for most of the E4, then poison wallace's whole team for shedinja to just sit in on (only the members with toxic can touch him).
What level should I take my aggron, mag, pert and plume to for this? Their levels are the only ones that matter since the other two won't be taking any hits.
I'm pretty scared that I'll wipe if something goes wrong and my sweep falls apart due to crits. Swampert has ice beam for the dragons, magneton with speed and a sub should be able to decimate literally everything else with aggron as support.
I was considering grinding those 4 members to level 55. Good enough or no?

Areas are pretty simple, they are all on the overworld.

Only use the first Shadow Pokemon per area I suppose which kinda of sucks since you're so much more limited. Maybe make it so you can only choose one Shadow or Wild per area.

In Y I've found a shiny Gulpin, Stunfisk, and Absol. Route 8 is a special place to me, as I also found a shiny Drifloon there on my first playthrough.
In SoulSilver, I've found a shiny Rattata, Magikarp, and Gloom. The Rattata and Magikarp were in the same run too!
I also found a shiny Geodude in a Pearl locke but didn't have Pokeballs :(

Doing a randomized Black nuzlocke. Basic rules, max team size is determined by rival/gym battles, so right now I can only carry two Pokemon plus my slave and I box the rest. I'm not enforcing a hard level limit, but I am rotating between the Pokemon I want to use to keep them around the same level.
Did a 1-to-1 randomizer and I regret it. But whatever, next run will be a full randomize. Also selected hm compatibility, trade evolutions, random tms, and random trainer teams. Debating on whether or not to randomize trainers next time, but I feel like I should just do a vanilla nuz if I didn't.
Anyway, here's my pasta so far
>Started with Totodile, Cheren got Shinx, Bianca got Elekid
>Caught Whismur on route 1 and Venipede on 2 before the gym, used Venipede and Totodile and won ezpz
>Caught an HM Slave Horsea on route 2 for Cut
>Totodile is doing great as a physical sweeper, and Venipede keeps having clutch moments where he's knocked to 1 hp and then ko-ing their opponents
>Caught a Baltoy in the Dreamyard, but lost it to Cheren's Vanillite on Route 3, who knew Icicle Spear
>2 hits in one turn = ko.
>Caught a Cherubi to (not) replace the hole.
>Lost Whismur while leveling it up before the 2nd gym to a crit
>Caught a Ferroseed in Wellspring Cave
>Beat 2nd gym with Totodile and Venipede ezpz
>Caught a Shuppet in Pinwheel Forest
>Now following Plasma goons through the forest

Here's my progress after returning to Lavender Town with 4 badges.

Had some disappointing deaths, namely Voltorb and Nidoking very soon after I wasted TMs on them. Dugtrio died to a wild Gastly, which was annoying, so I had to grind up a few replacements. Never used a Primeape before, but it's carrying its weight pretty well.

What stops being fun to you? My wonderlocke of Y stopped being fun around the time I lost a member and all I could get on the wondertrade for an hour was zigzagoon. But I ended up finishing.

I'm a weird case because, and this is going to sound really unbelievable, my first legit pokemon game I played was ORAS. For the first 4 years playing pokemon I played randomizers or Dray's hacks. It's probably why mainline games feel like a cakewalk to me (except X/Y past Olympia)

I would say play emerald to get the true experience, but it may mainly be childhood nostalgia honestly.
On the flip side, I've never emulated. What is a hard one you'd recommend if I just wanted to do a normal run?

Voltwhite 2 starts off rather tame compared to Dray's other hacks. Sacred Gold is a personal favorite although there are some real shit moments there. I'd recommend Sacred Gold

BlazeBlack 1 is retardedly hard. Aside from the first Gym, every gym battle is a double or triple battle

I mean to be fair, I enjoyed omega ruby when it came out. There was quite a bit of disappointment as someone who grew up playing gen 3 though. For some reason I didn't ever have a gameboy so I missed played red/blue, so gen 3 was my first at about 9 years old I think.
The fact that they removed the battle frontier and instead just teased it but never released it sickens me kinda. Also they retroactively downgraded the game back to R/S instead of including some improvements from emerald. The gym leader's teams for example.
Tate and Liza have 2 pokemon in R/S and ORAS, but four in emerald. And its the same with every gym leader.
They did kind of a bad job of it, but the game remains fun just like R/S are fun. I prefer emerald though and they should've just remade that game.

Thanks for the recommendations. I assume SG is based on heartgold? One of my favorites also.

And yes it is based on Heart Gold. iirc storywise it's the same, it's just a difficulty hack with some things changed. And you get Eevee when you go to Oak for the first time

I take dupes.
Glachild is a fast special attack ice type. It can have Inner Focus or Clear Body.
Fujiko is bold. Meh. Frosti is Bashful. They both got Inner Focus. Fuck.
These are all the encounters I get before the gym. Now I just need to train, fight some Honies (the Winstrate siblings are here), and then take the gym on.
My plan has been determined by my encounters. It may be a while before I'm done.
