If you say SS, SwShfags will meme about SoulSilver, but they never get angry about it and probably don't actually care that people are saying SS. SSfags on the other hand will have a full-on meltdown if they see anything that isn't SS. SS is the only abbreviation that doesn't legitimately trigger anyone, meaning it's the one the "community" decided was acceptable.
