>>37853518Sorry to disappoint, but I've only recently played Persona 5, and I ended up not liking it. I NEVER liked dating mechanics, and the complete duality of the setting just didn't do it for me. You pretty much end up playing two completely different games, the real world life sim game and the metaphysical combat game.
In a sense, I guess they put both extremes of a Role Playing Game in one, but it wasn't catching me That said, I am planning on going backwards once the bad taste gets out of my mouth.
I guess what I'm looking for is how Itoi described EB0, "Dragon Quest, but, like, in modern day." GF in all there incompetence nails that thought process so perfectly that most people that like Pokémon can't figure out why. It would have absolutely sold worse if Pokéballs were just "monster cages" and PC's were "upstate ranches". It's pretty much the perfect setting
and probably the easiest behind high fantasy, and I barely see any games that can use it well.
TL;DR: Persona 5 doesn't have a good setting because there's a giant border wall in between both, and more RPGs need a modern day setting, because that shit sells.
