Comparison between Japanese and English logos of Pokemon games

Generation 8 marks the first time in which the Japanese Pokémon logo has the same colors as the English logo.

What do you think?

I also noticed that the logos of the English version improved over time.

Starting from Gen 6 the Japanese logos put a small version of the game's gimmick item (mega stones, z crystals) but the English versions don't. Why not?

Maybe it's just cause I'm not used to it, but that aesthetic looks a lot worse on the Japanese logos than on the English ones. Having that style without the characters being tilted and layered on each other seems off.

Notice that the logos from XY onwards feature the gimmick item of the games; Mega Stones, Z-Crystals, and the like; and SS logos have that tidepod-looking thing. I wonder what's that about

Because the English logos have to keep using the very distinct original Pokemon logo that was created for NA all the way back when Red and Blue were released, for marketing purposes. Whereas the Japanese logo doesn't have anything like that, so have more freedom to play around with the font and colors each time.

Absolutely disgusting, I've resigned myself to looking at that disgusting yellow blob a long time ago, it worked for Gen 1 but had no business continuing after that, at least we got the version text being fancy after HG and SS.

To see it infecting the Japanese logos, which have always been cool as hell isn't good and I can only hope it's a weird one off.

oh shit they actually hinted to mega/primal/zmoves in the japanese logos only. so i guess that red/blue with three dots really is some new gameplay element

They did this by replacing the little dash part of the ン with the item, this wasn't possible with English alphabet so they didn't bother.
Theoretically they could have replaced the accent on the "e" with the item but for some reason they didn't.
