SS was definitely the best game in the series. People give it shit for the level curve and mon distribution, but it still remains better than most other Pokémon games, except maybe Pt.

HGSS are remakes of the worst games in the series that, while they do some things to fix that, don't do nearly enough and left some glaring issues with the game, all the while actively bringing in new problems by running on my least favourite engine, causing glacial paced battles and overworld and compromising the aesthetics, the best part of the original into something simply less appealing.

Anon, why are you using only half the proper acronym for that game? SS on its own is Sword and Shield. I mean, it's not like Soul Silver has any meaningful differences from Heart Gold to warrant talking about it individually anyway. Don't worry about it though, I know it's hard to keep track of your /vp/ tab and your r/Pokemon tab at the same time while also using the proper nomenclature.

I loved the safari zone too OP, by reimplementing what wasn’t in the original they already went above and beyond. But then they make it this huge highly modifiable area, so it’s super customizable, has way more pokemon in logical environments than a normal safari zone could have, and is just very replayable. By far the best safari zone in the series, just great stuff.
