gen 1/2/3/4/5 didn't need stupid shit like mega evos and z-moves to be considered good but of course they are a bigger catch than say just making more crossgen evos or making new interesting moves/abilities and many new Pokemon

I liked that one post saying it could be a new battle style similar to the anime where you choose the same amount of Pokemon as the gym leader and basically get matched up 1v1 randomly to each of theirs.

Probably going to be some dumb shit like Armor forms or hyper abilities though.

Yeah, they'd be forced to improve and evolve upon existing concepts instead of immediately jumping to the next fart in the wind.

I'd rather play a highly polished game than a poorly made one whose only relevance is a gimmick.
