Ash's Charizard is a boneified loser. It's a cucked manlet with something to prove, but NEVER proves it. Probably has bad IVs. No wonder Damien dropped it off when he did.

Not all Charizard deserve to be put down because of Ass and his overgrown delinquent. ALL of that said, I am tired of all the shilling Charizard get's and I think it's totally unfair that Blastoise and Venusaur only got one mega while Charizard got two. Just make one Mega Charizard with design elements from both, but keep Y's ability and BST.

because Charizard carried Ash's team at a time when the battling aspect wasnt emphasized or ideal. He would be considered an ace like Infernape and Greninja by modern standards.

The leagues are around the same difficulty because there are newbie trainers every gen. Someone with 6-7 league experience like Ash is an outlier.
Hell, Paul with 4 league experience was an outlier too. That's what made the Sinnoh League feel big boy compared to earlier leagues.

maybe if we saw Red actually training his Pokemon that would have been okay, but Origins is just the following repeated ad nauseum:

Okay, I know this isn't an argument, but it had me legit laughing for a while there: boneified bona fide.

As for your actual argument, I do echo other people's thoughts on the matter, that by it being, as far as I can tell, nothing more than a half-nostalgia bait, half-Mega-Evo pander, they made it much harder to believe that any strength or growth was earned. Mind you, I think it would have possibly diluted the point if they made the series longer to SHOW that, as the whole point was, once again, nostalgia-pandering and new-gen marketing, but it's unfortunate to have an anime rendition of Pokémon that's NOT the Ashnime, only for it to suffer as well.

Or more clearly, Charizard MIGHT be epic, but since we have little to no info on their journey except the highlights, we don't really know, or worse, don't FEEL it, which is the narrative function of a TV show.
